At this appointment we will assess your teeth and seek to understand your goals. We will then take a digital scan of your teeth along with some photos. Our Trios 3D scanner will capture a 3D image of your teeth without the use of any physical impressions. This data is then sent off to Invisalign for assessment and treatment planning. We will also require some radiographic imaging.
The beginning of a new smile!

Invisalign utilizes a set of clear plastic ‘trays’ or aligners that are made custom to your teeth. These series of trays are design to gently and slowly move your teeth over a period of time. Compared to traditional braces, Invisalign is barely noticeable. With traditional braces you will be able to see the metal brackets and wires in the mouth however with Invisalign the aligners are clear, and as such very hard to notice. Hygiene is also greater improved as Invisalign is able to be removed from the mouth when cleaning.
The recommended daily wear is 22 hours. Invisalign should only be removed when eating, brushing or flossing throughout the day. Every hour counts however, and our recommendation is to not remove them regularly.
Some private health funds will cover part of the Invisalign treatment costs. Our reception team can provide you with Invisalign treatment numbers and check if you’re covered.
During the initial few days of treatment, some patients report that their Invisalign aligner is a bit unpleasant, but this normally goes away fast. It is more comfortable than fixed braces for day to day use however.
